Communication is key
Praying is a method of connection and communication to God. While intercession is the act of praying to God on another’s behalf, both heavily prescribed and supported throughout Bible.
The Bible has numerous parables and stories prescribing the act and supporting the power of prayer and intercession. Although The Prayer Vault looks to the entire Bible for guidance, the following scripture has shaped its methods and doctrine surrounding prayer and intercession.
Words from Christ Jesus introducing prayer and the importance of never ceasing to pray.
James ‘a servant of God and the Lord Jesus Christ’ writes about praying at all times and for others. “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
A conversation with Jesus and his disciples about sin, judgment, the Holy Spirit and to how to connect with Christ and God the Father after Jesus is murdered. The disciples had never prayer in Jesus’ name before, Christ compels them to do so once he is no longer with them in human form.
